In the Midnight Room makes Best of 2017 lists
Books On the Table writer puts ‘Round Midnight on his list of very favorite 2017 books, because “the writing is gorgeous and the story is perfectly paced and constructed.” Popular NPR book reviewer Nancy Pearl urges book groups to read ’Round Midnight, while the inimitable Blue Willow Bookshop (Houston) spoke of ‘Round Midnight‘s “love, loss, redemption, and ultimately hope” in naming it a Best of 2017 book. California’s Diesel Books owner John Evans notes the novel’s “compassion, humor, and intelligence,” calling it “good reading of the highest order.” ‘Round Midnight also made the cut for Favorite Books of 2017 at Books on the Table, Fit and Beautiful, Read Her Like an Open Book, and Start With a Story (which called it “simply luminous”). It was a staff favorite at Simon & Schuster and one of 2017’s ten most popular reviews on Off the Shelf.
